Spectacular success and memorable visits to our stand in Alimentaria Barcelona 2022

14/04/2022

With Alimentaria 2022 over, we would like to thank all our customers, suppliers and friends for their company, for visiting us at our stand and for making possible one more year a more than enriching professional experience.

During our stay at the Alimentaria fair in Barcelona this year, we have received many important visits that have given us a lot, but on this occasion we would like to comment on three of them that had an extra meaning for us because of the category of visitors, in addition to the mutual benefits that we took away after these talks.

The first was the meeting between Vall Companys, Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods and Pere Aragonès, President of “La Generalitat de Catalunya”. The President was joined by the catalan Minister Teresa Jordà and, among other representatives of the sector, Josep Solé, general manager of the poultry division of Vall Companys, and Elisabet Cañigueral, president of Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods. The aim of this meeting was to show first-hand the situation of the meat sector, especially after the impact of the rise in cereal and energy prices on the entire food chain (from livestock breeding to the production of processed products). The invasion of Ukraine has made it clear that our sector is highly dependent on the outside world and that it is necessary to move towards self-sufficiency in energy and raw materials.

The second visit we would like to mention is the visit of the ambassador of the Republic of China in Spain, because it is a meeting with a representative of a country with which we have a very good relationship and which has been a major consumer of our products for many years.

And, the last visit to comment, which took place on the same day that the Chinese ambassador visited us in the afternoon, was that of the Minister of Agriculture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Teresa Jordà, and the Director General of IRTA (Institute of Agri-Food Research and Technology), Josep Usall, who were interested in our Company and the main products we displayed on the stand (the new range of croquettes, breaded products, fuets, Serrano ham…).

To close the event, following the values and mentality that characterises Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods, we donated the entire stock of the Alimentaria to “Banco de Alimentos” so that it can be put to the best possible use.

Thanks again to everyone for joining us in this great experience!
