Last year we recycled hundreds and hundreds of pairs of Panter® safety shoes that we use in our production plants, in a joint initiative with this company to give a new life to the material with which the footwear is made and convert it into other secondary materials such as new fibres that can later be used in the creation of new high-value products in the industry. In this way we reintroduce the material into the production chain and avoid waste to landfills and incinerators.
The recycling and recovery of end-of-life footwear, especially safety footwear, is extremely complex, due to the fact that it is a multi-composition product, made of different types of materials that must be previously separated in order to be recycled properly, as each of its different components (textiles, rubber, plastics, leather, metal, etc.) requires a different recovery and recycling treatment.
Recicla Panter is an innovative circular economy initiative, pioneer in its sector, which allows for the recovery of footwear waste at the end of its useful life. This Panter initiative provides a solution and utility to the waste generated by manufacturing, so that its different components can be reused, thus contributing to the reduction of the carbon footprint.
Together, we reduce our environmental impact and are committed to the circular economy.
